- Casual Pay Rates: Mon to Fri Rates $21.47 (17 years) to $34.64 (21 years +) plus weekend penalties where applicable
We’re looking for Casual Food & Beverage Staff to support our hospitality team across many locations at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
About the Role…

- Flexible Shifts: Enjoy the flexibility of shifts Monday to Sunday, starting as early as 7am and extending into late nights where applicable.
- Multiple Positions: Whether you prefer day or night shifts, we have multiple positions available to suit your schedule.
- Customisable Hours: Discuss your preferred minimum/maximum hours per week – perfect for school-age children with weekend availability only or those seeking 20-30 hours per week during school hours.
- Extra Shifts: Take advantage of the opportunity to pick up additional shifts during holiday periods, weekends, or whenever your availability allows.
Key Accountabilities…
- Deliver high quality customer service in order to provide excellent guest experience and promote repeat visitation.
- Work effectively as a member of a high performing team to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
- Undertake general duties of both food and beverage, including cleaning, taking orders, customer service, barista duties, food safety responsibilities & more.
- Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.
About You…
- Flexible and Available: Ready to work on a rotating schedule from Monday to Sunday.
- Experienced: Have front-of-house food and beverage operations experience.
- Coffee Enthusiasts: Experience making coffees is a plus, but not essential – we’ll provide on-the-job training!
- Adaptable: Able to meet varying roster commitments, including out-of-hours, school holidays, weekends, and holidays.
- RSA: Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is a bonus, but not essential
- Child-Safe: Have a current paid NSW Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one.
- Licensed: Possess a driver’s license if applicable.
