  • The roster is a rolling schedule which includes weekends and public holidays.
    • This is great flexibility in the working hours and days.
  • Working hours: 5:30am – 2:00pm
  • Joining a team of 3 full time cleaners
  • Mixture of working indoors/outdoors

 

About the Role…

The position ensures the presentation of Taronga Western Plains Zoo grounds and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

You will perform cleaning duties in and around the zoo grounds. Your day to day will include maintaining the presentation of Taronga Zoo’s public areas, internal administrative buildings and car park to the highest possible standards.

You will be joining a large team of cleaners who work effectively and enjoy being around the zoo animals and our zoo guests on a day to day basis.

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Perform cleaning work of any description in and around zoo grounds
  • Maintain the presentation of Taronga’s public areas, including accommodation, internal administrative buildings and car park to the highest possible standards.
  • Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
  • Communicate Taronga’s education and conservation messages both internally and externally, ensuring all communications align with Taronga’s values to inspire change in accordance with Taronga’s vision and strategic pillars.
  • Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
  • Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
  • Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Current NSW Drivers License
  • Are physically fit; working at the zoo in outdoor cleaning will require you to work across the full zoo grounds, with walking the main way to get around the zoo
  • Vaccinations against Zoonotic diseases (in accordance with Taronga’s Zoonotic disease vaccination matrix): Q fever, tetanus, hep A & B, tuberculosis screening
  • Obtain and maintain a current NSW Working with Children Check.
