Taronga Western Plains Zoo is looking for an experienced and motivated Front Desk Coordinator to help shape unforgettable guest experiences across three unique stays, including the highly anticipated Serengeti Resort!

About the Role…
To coordinate and facilitate the delivery of high-quality guest service and product to Taronga Western Plains Zoo's overnight guests. The Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for overseeing front desk operations, implementing procedures and programs to ensure consistent service and product delivery and ensuring that the Zoo’s accommodation outlets are maintained. Working closely with the Accommodation Manager, the role supports operational excellence, guest satisfaction and the financial sustainability of the accommodation products.
Key Accountabilities…
- Coordinate the day-to-day operation of front desk, reservations and guest services functions across accommodation experiences, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient operations and seamless guest journeys.
- Support, develop and coordinate front office and reservations team members through recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering and day-to-day and supervision activities, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to meet operational requirements.
- Maintain high standards of property presentation and upkeep through regular inspections, issue identification and coordination of maintenance and operational support requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Housekeeping Coordinator to monitor and maintain high standards of accommodation presentation, cleanliness and guest readiness.
- Provide operational leadership and support to front office teams by managing escalated guest enquiries, resolving operational issues and identifying opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction, operational performance and service quality.
- Support the efficient operation of Taronga Western Plains Zoo's accommodation products through effective administration, accurate record keeping and the timely use of operational systems and processes.
- Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all WHS requirements, ensuring safe practices and effective incident response. Oversee base operations and after-hours emergencies, leading the team in radio monitoring and communications
- Champion operational decisions and behaviours that reduce environmental impact, support resource efficiency and contribute to Taronga’s long‑term sustainability commitments.
About You…

Key Knowledge and Experience:
- Hospitality or Business-related qualification or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience.
Essential Requirements:
- Hold and maintain a First Aid Certificate (at own expense)
- Hold and maintain a current paid NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (at own expense)
- Hold and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check (at own expense)
