Role: Labourer - Plumbing & Irrigation TWPZ
- Position located at Dubbo’s Iconic Western Plains Zoo!
- Full Time - ongoing position
- TWPZ Labourer, starting from base salary $64,252 ranging to $71,275 (depending on experience) + employer's contribution to superannuation + annual leave loading
The role of Full Time Labourer - Plumbing at Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo, is a truly unique working environment, where your day to day is different every day! You will work on the exhibit facilities for animals such as tigers, elephants, hippos, platypus, spider monkeys, lemurs, rhinos + more!
About the Role…
You will join the team that provide a broad range of plumbing, draining and irrigation work across Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
- This is a Monday to Sunday role; 7am till 330pm
Rotating weekend roster; to discuss in the interview process - 5 weeks annual leave
- Flexible work arrangements
Key Accountabilities…
- Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip lines, valves, pumps and controllers across zoo grounds and animal habitats.
- Assist with conducting routine inspections of irrigation infrastructure to identify leaks, blockages, faults or inefficient operation, and report issues promptly.
- Assist qualified plumbers with the maintenance of water supply systems, including pipework, fittings, tanks, filters and backflow devices.
- Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, completing assigned work tasks and projects to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
- Effective delivery of high-quality customer service to all Zoo visitors, staff and volunteers.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.
About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Experience in Irrigation systems highly desirable
- Hold a current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual
- Hold and Maintain a current NSW Working with Children Check
Pre Employment Requirements…
- Q Fever vaccination at own expense
- Pre-employment medical assessment; Taronga will pay for this.
- Pre-employment Hepatitis A and B inc 4-8 week serology and booster if required at own expense
