Taronga Zoo is looking for an experienced Accommodation Product Manager to join our team, on a 12 month contract.

 

  • Located at Sydney’s Iconic Taronga Zoo
  • 12 month, maternity leave cover position – position due to begin April 2026
  • Full time hours
  • TCSA Salaried Employees Award, Clerk Grade 7, annual package starting from $128,726 (includes base salary starting from $113,574 + 12% superannuation & leave loading)

About the Role…

Tarongas Accommodation Product Manager, is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of marketing campaigns, promotional activities and product development across Taronga’s accommodation portfolio.

 

This role is responsible for meeting booking and revenue targets for the accommodation products at Taronga Zoo Sydney - including the well-established Roar and Snore program and the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga, as well as Taronga’s accommodation products in Dubbo - Zoofari Lodge and the new Serengeti Resort which will open at the end of the year.

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Plan and develop the marketing plan for the accommodation portfolio, including delivering end-to-end targeted marketing campaigns and promotional activities across multiple channels, using data and insights to guide strategy and decision making.
  • Optimise the end-to-end guest journey from search and discovery through to booking, pre-arrival, on-property and post-stay communication, ensuring alignment of messaging, brand positioning, revenue outcomes and guest experience objectives.
  • Execute Taronga’s paid, owned and earned marketing campaigns to the highest possible standard, considering Taronga’s brand, audience and communications priorities in all activities and ensuring that all campaigns are targeted towards specific commercial outcomes.
  • Manage OTA marketing strategies and Revenue Agency relationship management
  • Monitor campaigns and results, ensure full post analysis reporting completed for all marketing and promotional activity, in conjunction with appropriate agencies/media/partners, and optimize as required.
  • Develop content, monitor and manage the social media account for the Wildlife Retreat and work with the Taronga digital team to maintain and refresh the website across all accommodation products.
  • Assist in the writing and production of monthly EDMs to the Taronga database in relation to Taronga’s accommodation products.
  • Manage all relevant advertising and promotional budgets to ensure activities align with approved funds, including collaborating with the Taronga Trade/Tourism team to ensure all Taronga accommodation products are represented across key relevant international markets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and communications across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, by ensuring stakeholder teams are managed and communicated to appropriately at all levels, establishing effective working relationships and influence across the organisation.
  • Day to day management of relationships across a network of external suppliers including advertising and media agencies, and the state government marketing compliance unit, ensuring optimum service and value is delivered to Taronga.
  • Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Marketing discipline or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Experience and achievement in successfully implementing and evaluating marketing programs, promotions and events.
  • Previous experience in a marketing role responsible for an accommodation portfolio and evidence of success in delivering to revenue targets for accommodation products and/or previous experience launching a new property will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in managing accommodation partners will be highly regarded – including OTA’s, booking system platforms, booking management systems (eg Opera, Siteminder)
