Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Assets team!

 

Keep Taronga running at its best by orchestrating everything from maintenance and contractors to fuel, facilities and finances, ensuring every corner of the zoo stays safe, seamless and ready for action.

 

About the Role…

Coordinate activities of Taronga’s Asset Maintenance Planning team including delivery of scheduled, corrective and reactive maintenance across infrastructure and facilities and supporting the facility manager whilst ensuring best practice and effective use of Taronga’s systems and procedures.

 

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Management of the fuel supply on site, including monthly accountability activities, ordering and PO management.
  • Waste removal: coordination of contractors on site, financial management, invoice and PO processing.
  • Refrigeration and commercial kitchen: coordinate all preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance activities for these areas working with our in-house catering company.
  • Air Conditioning: coordination of preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance activities for air conditioning and BMS systems within the zoo (excluding Taronga Wildlife Retreat and function spaces)
  • Small appliances: preventative and ad-hoc maintenance of all small appliances and selected services in the zoo.
  • Contractor management: assisting in managing external contractors that attend site including managing and signing off permits for your contractors.
  • Financial coordination: Responsible for GR of all utility bills and invoices of all planning contractors
  • High level strategic coordination of maintenance activities, workflows and maintenance of asset data in Archibus.
  • Assisting the FM with strategic financial planning for maintenance activities within the financial year.
  • Stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and timelines in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Supporting the FM and general assets team with all activities within the asset management team remit.

 

 

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

 

Key Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated Facilities Management experience in a dynamic, high paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Archibus or a similar system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience working with BMS, Mechanical systems, refrigeration systems and hospitality equipment.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Trade qualification or qualification in Building or Facilities Management or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Hold a current NSW Driver’s License or ability to have existing license formally recognised
  • Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at own expense.
  • Maintain a current NSW White Card for Construction at your own expense record check
