Taronga Zoo is on the search for a vivacious and energetic Fundraising Events Assistant, to join the team! Based at the zoo, in the zoo grounds, you’ll be joining a team of driven and passionate individuals, who truly love what they do.

About the Role…

The Foundation Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and execution of events hosted by the Taronga Foundation. This role involves working closely with the entire Foundation team supporting events for teams including Major Gifts, Bequests, Individual Giving, Fundraising Events and Corporate Partnerships to ensure the success of fundraising and donor engagement events. You will proactively add value to supporter experiences, including communications, event logistics/support and general administration.

Key Accountabilities…

  • Assist with the management of events related to Taronga supporters. Supporting events across the full spectrum of the Foundation including booking event spaces, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support event requirements, managing RSVPs, facilitating catering needs, venue setup and guest registration.
  • Support the creation and distribution of event marketing materials, invitations and thank-you notes.
  • Ensure the development, implementation and delivery of events to ensure they are in-line with Taronga policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of event details, budgets and attendee information.
  • Provide on-site support during events, including setup, registration and event closure.
  • Assist in post-event evaluations and reporting to identify areas for improvement.

About You…

  • A passion for all things events! Qualifications/ studies in event management or similar, highly desirable.
  • Strong administration levels; personable and tech savvy
  • Hold a current NSW Driver’s License or ability to have existing license formally recognised.
  • Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at own expense.
