Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated HR Coordinator to join our People Operations team!

Join Taronga Zoo’s dynamic People Operations team as a Human Resources Coordinator and play a key role in enhancing organisational capability and employee experience. This full-time, two-year opportunity offers you the chance to provide end-to-end HR support across recruitment, onboarding, development, and employee relations. About the role…

The HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting a variety of projects within the People Operations team to enhance organisational capability and employee experience. The role provides end-to-end generalist support across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with legislative and industrial relations requirements.

 

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Coordinate HR and Payroll system administrative tasks to maintain efficient operations, ensuring all processes adhere to legal and organisational requirements.
  • Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and compliance materials are up-to-date and accurately documented. Regularly review and update these materials to reflect legislative changes and internal updates.
  • Gather and maintain HR data to support the development of reports on key HR metrics. Assist in the preparation of reports for monthly leadership meetings.
  • Assist in coordinating performance review processes by distributing relevant materials to managers and employees, and tracking completion.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective HR support and communication.
  • Support the HR team in addressing employee relations issues by helping coordinate meetings, taking minutes, and following up on action items. Ensure confidential handling of sensitive employee matters.
  • Provide Generalist HR support across recruitment, onboarding, development and offboarding processed to ensure efficient operations and compliance with legislative requirements.

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Obtain and maintain a current volunteer NSW Working with Children Check at own expense
