We are looking for motivated and tech-savvy IT Helpdesk Support Officers to join our team and provide hands-on support to staff across both zoo sites. In this dynamic role, you'll assist with troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of IT issues—from network and hardware problems to software installations and password resets.

You'll work directly with users to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, document solutions, escalate complex issues to senior staff, and contribute to IT projects that support Taronga’s mission to secure a shared future for wildlife and people. About the Role…

Provide technical support and assistance to the staff across Taronga. The IT helpdesk Support Officer will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving various IT issues, such as network connectivity, software installation, hardware malfunction, password reset, etc. The IT helpdesk intern will also be expected to communicate effectively with the users, document the problems and solutions, and escalate complex cases to senior IT staff. They will also be required to participate in Projects.

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Provide support to staff and solve problems to minimise loss of productivity, ensuring all requests are entered and updated in the help desk system (JIRA).
  • Complete simple / standard set-up activities for user accounts, computers, mobile devices, audio-visual equipment and other Information Management and Technology (IT) systems in line with Service Level Agreements.
  • Monitor the performance of systems and assist with the identification of potential issues and propose solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of reference materials through maintenance of documentation on knowledge base articles, system configurations and technical processes.
  • To build, configure and distribute the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) which includes the installation and configuration of software.
  • Adhere to key performance indicators for timely updating and closure of tickets including incidents and service requests.
  • Participate in Projects as directed by IT Project Manager
  • Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Demonstrated further learning in information technology or a related discipline.
  • Sound experience in competently installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Operating Systems and application software.
  • Current Class C Driver’s License (or equivalent) recognized by New South Wales’ authorities.
  • Obtain and maintain a current volunteer NSW Working with Children Check.
