- TCSA Salaried Employees Award, Clerk Grade 8, annual package $133,487 (includes base salary $118,296 + plus superannuation & leave loading)
Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated IT Project Manager to join the team!

In this role, you’ll manage the rollout of cutting-edge customer-facing systems and critical internal business solutions—making a real difference to how we operate and connect with our community.
About the Role…
To lead and oversee all aspects of key Information Technology (IT) projects from development through implementation to completion, ensuring project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget and meet the Taronga strategic plans.
Key Accountabilities…
- Manage and oversee multiple complex IT projects throughout all phases of the allocated projects lifecycle (planning, design delivery & support).
- Facilitate and participate in design workshops to understand overall IT and change management requirements.
- Implement and develop the project charter defining the project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical and financial feasibility. Manage overall governance of the projects and report/ and escalate to management/steering committees as needed.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress and manage project risks. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the on-time delivery of projects to agreed parameters.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, within budget and meet compliance requirements.
- Mange and oversee tender procurement processes as required, and in accordance with Taronga policies and New South Wales Government procurement guidelines.
- Partner with key areas of the organisation to drive continuous improvement through the Move to Improve program
About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Relevant Project Management Methodology certifications (Prince2, Agile etc.) or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects through to completion in a medium or large sized organisation.
- Demonstrated business partnering and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence business and technology outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail with a process-driven, continuous improvement mindset.
- Hold a current NSW Driver’s License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual and maintain at your own expense.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
