Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Information Management Specialist to join our ICT team!

As an Information Management Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring Taronga’s information assets are well-organised, secure, and accessible. You’ll lead initiatives in automation, digitisation, and AI-driven workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while enhancing efficiency across the organisation.

About the Role…

The Information Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring Taronga's information assets are effectively managed, retained, and accessible. They drive compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, facilitate efficient retrieval of information, and promote effective information governance practices.

 

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Provide guidance on Taronga’s obligations under the State Records Act 1998, through Information Management Reviews for Departments.
  • Administer and supports Information Management and Enterprise search systems including staff training.
  • Lead automation through digitisation, workflow and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.
  • Maintain Taronga Archives in accordance with recognised archive standards and ensure compliance with state legislation for record keeping, including responding to research enquiries.
  • Administer the classification, retention, disposal and transfer to Archives of Taronga records.
  • Document and maintain a register of Taronga moveable heritage items and consult with Taronga’s Heritage Officer on the implications of new capital works at either Mosman and Dubbo location

 

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Qualifications in information science, records management, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in managing information management and records systems including digital Records Management systems.
  • Conversant with current State legislation in respect of public records and understands related issues such as privacy, copyright law and public access to information via GIPA          
  • Working with Children check
