Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Community Programs Manager to join our Education team!

About the Role…
The Manger, Community Programs ensure a high level of engagement for guests and community members through leading the development of a diverse range of community education and outreach programs. This role is to drive the development of innovative Zoo experiences that support education, employment and training programs.
Key Accountabilities…
- Lead and monitor the development and delivery of high-quality education & outreach programs to increase community engagement, build revenue and support program growth.
- Proactively lead the development and implementation of Community Education that align with the Taronga’s vision and strategy, delivering improved outcomes, in education and training for the organisation, our people, students, and community.
- Develop business case plans and manage operational requirements for the Institute of Science and Learning to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish relationships with key education industry stakeholders to ensure programs are developed in line with relevant curriculum and community expectations.
- Lead and manage the Community Education team to deliver high quality customer service experience in
line with outcomes of each program.
- Communicate Taronga’s education and conservation messages both internally and externally, ensuring all communications align with Taronga’s values to inspire change in accordance with Taronga’s vision and strategic pillars.
- Develop strong relationships with representatives at all levels of management throughout the organisation to support the achievement of business strategy, vision, mission and purpose.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Education or other related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of knowledge,
skills and experience
- Hold a current NSW Driver’s License or ability to have existing license formally recognised.
- Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at own expense.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain at own expense.
- Experience in leading and mentoring people.
- Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate or Occupational First Aid Certificate
