Role Description - Programs Governance Manager
Taronga is on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Programs Governance Manager to help drive the success of our Capital Program and other key initiatives across Corporate Services.

About the Role…
This role manages governance frameworks for the Taronga Capital Program and other programs of work within the Corporate Services Division, including IT projects. It provides oversight of project management partner (PMP) services delivered by external parties and reports on key areas such as budget control, project risks and contractual KPIs. The role utilises existing business systems and provides advice on improved functionality to meet Taronga business requirements.
Key Accountabilities…
- Governance oversight to ensure fulfillment of Project Management Partner (PMP) Services Delivery Plan – this includes regular reporting of agreed contract KPIs, review of PMP resource scheduling / invoicing and utilisation of the Taronga Contract Management framework.
- Provide confidence the agreed Capital Project Management Governance framework is employed by the PMP for all capital projects. This includes review of documentation and controls, attendance at meetings, verifying with stakeholders and working with Taronga SMEs to review and report project level KPIs.
- Complete financial reconciliation of all capital projects (including updated estimates and remaining contingency) ensuring detailed reports managed by PMP fully concur with Taronga’s finance and procurement systems.
- Based on PMP and Taronga SME assessments provide updates on significant risks by project including current ratings, trends and mitigation plans. Highlight Program interdependencies and cumulative risk across the Capital Program.
- Utilise existing business systems (operated by Taronga and PMP) and undertake functionality review as required.
- Capital Program compliance reporting for NSW Government including managing the Construction Procurement accreditation process.
- IT Projects – work with the internal team to provide governance oversight of major projects and utilisation of the Taronga Contract Management framework for relevant contracts.
About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Governance, Finance, Project Management or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience.
- Hold a current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual.
- Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at own expense.
