Role: Recruitment and Workforce Planning Lead

- TCSA Salaried Employees Award, Clerk Grade 7/8, annual package $128,726 - $142,492 (includes base salary $113,574 – 125,720 + plus superannuation & leave loading)
Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Recruitment & Workforce Planning Lead to join our People Culture & Safety team!
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of shaping Taronga’s future workforce, driving recruitment and workforce planning with energy and impact. You’ll ensure strong governance and smooth, effective processes, all while building a talented and capable team that brings Taronga’s vision and strategy to life. Key Accountabilities…
- Partner with hiring managers to determine employment needs and develop robust role descriptions, accurate Mercer job evaluations and targeted advertising campaigns for all roles in line with Taronga branding and the employee value proposition
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment activities in accordance with NSW Public Service recruitment & selection guidelines and using sourcing tools to proactively seek potential talent such as LinkedIn Recruiter
- Develop hiring plans and strategies to reflect the business needs and to improve diversity and inclusion outcomes
- Manage and improve internal processes regarding position management, recruitment activities, changes to employees’ role descriptions, reporting lines, remuneration changes, and structural changes
- Provide advice and support to managers and employees regarding workforce composition and capabilities and organisational goals and partner with hiring managers and panels to upskill and improve capability through refined recruitment and selection practices.
- Support the salaries and wages budget process, including reforecasts and the management of establishment papers and approvals, with input from Taronga’s Management and Executive team, Finance and HR Advisors
- Work with internal Taronga teams and managers to identify resource opportunities in workforce planning and the development and delivery of training resources for Managers
- Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders both internal and external
- Undertake appropriate administrative processes to support the efficient operations in line with legislative requirements
About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and/or experience in recruitment or talent acquisition role.
- Experience in developing innovative recruitment strategies (including employment branding and volume recruitment), implementing recruitment processes, establishing talent pools, and coordinating recruitment campaigns to successful outcomes.
- Experience and expertise in workforce planning in a complex organisation.
- Well-developed problem-solving capability and ability to exercise sound judgement, exploring innovative approaches to sourcing strategies.
- Understanding of employment laws and their impact on the recruitment process.
