Are you a motivated and passionate Retail Coordinator with at least 2 years of leadership experience under your belt? Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for someone like you to join our dynamic Retail team!
As the Retail Store Coordinator at Taronga, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our guests through well-presented merchandise, smooth daily operations, and strong team leadership. Your skills in sales, rostering, and visual merchandising will help guide your team, boost performance, and support Taronga’s mission: making every purchase part of a bigger conservation story.
About the Role…
Lead the retail team in maximising sales and enhancing the visitor experience through high level customer service.
Key Accountabilities…
- Have strong product knowledge of Taronga’s retail offerings, the ability to explain the link with Taronga’s vision and drive sales to achieve Taronga Retail sales targets.
- Roster creation for our team of Retail Sales Assistants in accordance with TZ policies and timeframes, including daily operational shift management.
- Creating a positive culture by leading, mentoring and coaching a team of Retail Sales Assistants to deliver high quality customer service experiences in order to provide excellent guest experience and promote repeat visitation.
- Provide high level visual merchandising ensuring Retail stores are presented in a professional and engaging way to assist in customer experience and drive revenue.
- Support management by conducting regular performance reviews with Casual Sales Assistants and acting as the senior retail officer in the absence of the Retail Management Team in order to ensure the delivery of efficient day to day operation across the department.
- Demonstrate high levels of store operational management including but not limited to cash management and handling, , end of day reporting, stock level management, housekeeping, staff direction and customer service.
- Supporting operations management across key Taronga Events, such as Vivid, Twilight, New Years Eve, to support business operations.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter
- Ability to work weekends and holiday periods

About You…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Maintain a current Working with Children Check at your own expense
- 2+ years experience managing retail teams
