  • TCSA Retail & Restaurant Employees Award, Retail Coordinator, annual package $69,883.62 (includes base salary $61,930.76 + 12% superannuation & leave loading)

 

As the Retail Store Coordinator at Taronga, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our guests through well-presented merchandise, smooth daily operations, and strong team leadership. Your skills in sales, rostering, and visual merchandising will help guide your team, boost performance, and support Taronga’s mission: making every purchase part of a bigger conservation story.

 

About the Role…

The role of Retail Store Coordinator, will lead Taronga’s retail sales team to maximise retail sales and enhance the visitor experience through high level customer service. This role is rostered Tuesday to Saturday, including one mandatory weekend day (Saturday) and combines office administration responsibilities with hands-on frontline retail operations.

 

Key Accountabilities…

  • Lead and support a team of Retail Sales Assistants to deliver exceptional guest experiences and achieve sales targets.
  • Coordinate team rostering and daily retail operations in line with organisational policies and operational needs.
  • Drive sales through strong product knowledge, customer engagement and high-quality visual merchandising standards.
  • Support team development through coaching, mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Oversee key store operations including cash handling, stock management, reporting and store presentation.
  • Act as the senior retail lead in the absence of management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Support retail operations during major zoo events and peak visitation periods.
  • Maintain compliance with Work Health & Safety requirements and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Availability to work public holidays, peak holiday periods, and evening or after-hours events is required.

 

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Maintain a current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) at your own expense
  • 2+ years experience managing retail teams
