Role: Senior Finance Officer - Taronga Zoo

- TCSA Salaried Employees Award, Clerk Grade 3, annual salary package from $95,953 (includes base salary from $84,659 + plus 12% superannuation & leave loading)
Taronga Zoo is a truly unique work environment. The Senior Finance Officer role, based at the zoo grounds, will be amongst the zoo operations on a day to day basis.
About the role…
This role is responsible for providing accounting support to the Financial Team across both Taronga and Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
This role encompasses a Flexible Hybrid work model - Taronga supports a blend of in-office, remote, and on-the-go workers!
Key Accountabilities…
- Reconcile high volume bank transactions and other general ledger accounts using multiple revenue systems, accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in daily cash receipts, credit card settlements from online and on-site sales through engagement with Taronga’s operation managers and Bank.
- Present weekly updates to Manager Finance regarding position of bank accounts.
- Investigate Bank and other key ledger reconciliations on a daily basis and provide clarity in processed transactions.
- Complete Monthly/Quarterly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Complete early close and end of financial year accounting workpapers as required.
About you…
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Relevant degree qualifications
- CPA; or working towards
- Current NSW Paid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
