Role: Zoo Friends Officer - Taronga Zoo
Taronga Zoo is looking for friendly and motivated individuals, to join our Zoo Friends team!
- Located at Sydney’s Iconic Taronga Zoo – Cammeraigal Country
- Casual position
- TCSA Wages Employees Award, GEO, casual loading Monday to Friday rate $32.59 (weekend penalty rates also apply)
We’re looking for people with a flexible availability, who are wanting to pick up 2 to 3 shifts a week (15 to 22 hours) casually. Shift times approx: 9am till 5pm
About the Role…
The successful individual will deliver high quality customer service practices for our existing and prospective Zoo Friends members, driving up membership base through expert product knowledge.
Key Accountabilities…
- Sell and promote Zoo Friends annual passes in order to grow the current membership base to generate revenue needed to enable Taronga to continue its work both in caring for the animals in our Zoos and in supporting and caring for wildlife in its natural habitat.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Zoo Friends program by responding to member enquiries, processing membership applications and renewals, completing administration tasks and ensuring the membership office is well presented.
- Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
- Deliver high quality customer service experiences in order to provide excellent guest experience and promote repeat visitation.
- Communicate Taronga’s education and conservation messages both internally and externally, ensuring all communications align with Taronga’s values to inspire change in accordance with Taronga’s vision and strategic pillars.
- Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.

- Maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check at your own expense.
